Glenhazel Primary School to host a fundraising cultural event

GLENHAZEL – The concert will cater for diverse groups and will showcase a variety of cultural activities.

Glenhazel Primary School is preparing to host their annual school concert and parents are invited to attend.

The concert will be held at the school on 13 October under the theme, different colours, one people.

There are various cultural activities planned including cultural dances, music, poetry, theatrical plays and many other exciting activities.

Organiser Nobuhle Zondo said they expect a huge turnout from the parents. “This is a fundraising concert for the school. The school, which comprises various ethnic groups, is very diverse and thus they we decided on the theme,” said Zondo.

This year’s event is no different from those in previous years. “The theme will accommodate everyone because we have other children who come from other countries outside South Africa.

“So, every nation or cultural group will be given a platform to showcase their cultural heritage. We want everyone to be comfortable and embrace their cultural backgrounds.”

The idea is to raise funds to enable the school to obtain computers and equip the library to enable effective learning and teaching.

Parents are urged to attend the concert and Zondo said tickets are available at the school. Adults pay R50 and children pay R20.
