Man is arrested for allegedly murdering a woman at an abandoned property

DUNKELD – A man allegedly stabbed a woman following an argument at an abandoned house

 

A man has been arrested for allegedly murdering a woman on 11 July at an abandoned house.

Josh Nel, a tactical manager for security company CSS, told the Gazette that an argument had allegedly broken out between a man and a woman who were staying at an abandoned property on Bompas Road. “The man allegedly stabbed the woman and she died of her injuries,” he said.

Nel added that one of their vehicles was patrolling on Bompas Road when witnesses flagged down the vehicle and paramedics and police were called to the scene.

Russel Meiring, the spokesperson for ER24 said paramedics entered the house where they found the woman’s body. “Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained a wound to her chest as well as her neck, and showed no signs of life,” said Meiring

“Unfortunately, the woman had already succumbed to her injuries. Nothing could be done for her and she was pronounced dead.”

According to Nel, an informer for the company alerted them to the whereabouts of the suspect and he was arrested at about 7 am at Zoo Lake on 13 July.

Bramley Police Station spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi said a case of murder was opened and the case was transferred to the Parkview Police Station when the suspect was arrested in Zoo Lake.
