Here’s a list of things you can do for Mandela Day:

Ikemeleng Youth Centre

Help Ikemeleng Youth Centre by donating free standing bookshelves for Mandela Day. They would like to continue creating a culture of learning and reading at the centre. Currently, the books are lying all over the place and in boxes. The bookshelves will be installed in the main youth centre to brighten it up and to create curiosity for reading. For Mandela Day, we would like you and your family, office team, church, or faith-based organisation to come through and put up some shelves, load them up with books, and sit and read with a young person. All books of all South African languages are most welcome. Contact them on 072 115 5821 or visit their website

Rays of Hope

Help Rays of Hope by levelling the ground to create a sports field for Ithemba Labantwana during Mandela Month. Rays of Hope needs assistance with levelling the ground at our resource centre so that the children attending the homework club will be able to utilise and play at the grounds. For more information email lindi@raysofhope.co.za

CEEP Hospital painting project

CEEP are looking for a corporate who wishes to give back. We have a painting project at a children’s home that needs a team to sponsor it. Come and help us paint and give back to the community at the same time. For more information contact Nicole on 084 2846 452 or visit their website

It doesn’t matter how big or small your actions are on Mandela Day as long as you get involved. There are so many different activities to get involved in and everyone will find something that they would like to do.
