Man shot twice in the head in Hillbrow

HILLBROW – Hillbrow police have asked anyone with information to come forward after the body of a man with bullet wounds to the head is discovered.

 

The body of an unknown man with two bullet wounds in the head was discovered near a restaurant at the intersection of Claim and Smit Streets in Hillbrow.

Hillbrow police spokesperson Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo said the body was discovered at about 10pm on 9 July and the man was certified dead on the scene.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the possible motive for the murder. It is not known whether the execution-style killing was carried out by a lone gunman.

“At this stage, there isn’t enough information since there were no witnesses, however, a murder docket has been opened,” said Zondo. “We are investigating the matter and request the community to come forward with information to assist the police [with their investigation].”

The suspect(s) are still at large.
