The spokesperson for the event, Charmaine Danziger said, “approximately 140 cats of at least 20 different breeds will be on show, including pampered Persians, majestic Maine Coons, beautiful Birmans, curly Cornish Rexes and amazing Abyssinians, to name but a few.”

Cats will be judged three times by three different judges in each section and then, if nominated by the judges, will go up for Best in Show to determine the best overall cat in each section and ultimately the Cat of the Day.

“This show will culminate in the end of the 2017 season for cats to qualify for the national SACC Cat of the Year competition which will be held in Cape Town in August. At this show, they will announce the qualifiers to represent Gauteng region for the top 10 entries, top 10 neuters, top 4 kittens and top 2 domestic pets – a very exciting end to the show.

“The highlight of the day is that we will have a special side class – the Fathers Day Special – where exhibitors will enter their ‘stud boys’. This will include all the male cats together with some of their progeny and there will be a judge off by the All Breeds judges to determine the Sire of the Day, showing how the breed has improved and progressed over the years. Prizes will be given to the sires and their offspring.”
