A young girl recently became the subject of an alleged sexual assault in a building located on Heilderberg and Rosettenville Roads in Johannesburg.
Details surrounding the incident are sketchy, however, according to police spokesperson at the Johannesburg Central Police Station, Captain Xoli Mbele, a 25-year-old suspect has been apprehended in connection with the crime.
“Johannesburg Central Police arrested a 25-year-old man at about 10pm on 27 May 2017 for sexual assault as well as malicious damage to property,” said Mbele.
“The allegation is that the suspect sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl at about 9.30pm, while the victim had gone to fetch water from the communal the tap.
“She was confronted by the suspect; who touched her breasts and followed her to her room where he broke the door down.
“Police were notified of the incident shortly afterwards and moved in to arrest the suspect.”

A police investigation is underway while the suspect awaits making an appearance in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon.”
