School Sleep Out ambassador chosen from Rand Girls High School

PARKTOWN – Candice Verster is one of eight students in Gauteng selected to be an ambassador for the School Sleep Out event.

Candice Verster, the head girl of Rand Girls High School in Parktown, has been chosen as an ambassador for the School Sleep Out event.

Candice is one of eight students in Gauteng who was selected to participate in the School Sleep Out. The ambassadors were chosen to use their voice to encourage their peers to create positive social change.

As part of her role as a Sleep Out ambassador, Candice attended a two-day training camp and a media launch. “Being a School Sleep Out ambassador means that I can be the change that I want to see. I am very excited because I know that I will be learning a lot,” she said.

This year, the School Sleep Out challenges students, teachers and parents to spend a night outdoors in their school garden during the month of June and collect items for beneficiaries.
