29-year-old woman nabbed for possession of a stolen motor bike in Johannesburg

JOBURG – A 29-year-old woman was arrested. Find out why.

A woman was brought to book by Johannesburg Central Cluster police officers at about 11am on 7 May for allegedly being in possession of stolen property.

“Police arrested a 29-year-old female for possession of a stolen motorbike on the corner of Goud and Commissioner streets,” said Captain Xoli Mbele, spokesperson for Joburg Central Police.

“Police were busy conducting their routine crime prevention duties when they saw a black Suzuki motorbike with no disks parked at the above-mentioned streets.”

Mbele said the motorbike’s vehicle identification number was circulated during which time it emerged that the bike had previously been reported as stolen at Lenasia Police Station on 24 January last year.

An investigation is underway and the suspect will appear in Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
