Swift work by Hillbrow Police has resulted in the arrests of at least two suspects in connection with the brutal stabbing of a woman in Hillbrow on 3 May.

City Buzz previously reported that at about 5.45am on 3 May, the victim was making her way to work along the intersection of Quartz and Peterson Streets when she was ambushed by two knife-wielding assailants who demanded her cellphone near the hijacked Vannin Court building.

When she refused to comply, she was allegedly violently stabbed by at least one of the assailants and sustained multiple stab wounds on both hands.

Two cellphones were taken from the victim, with one reportedly found at the scene after the suspects fled. The woman, in her mid-20s, who’s identity is known to City Buzz, was transported to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital for further treatment and has since been discharged.
