Local celeb allegedly robbed

OBSERVATORY – Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha is allegedly robbed while sleeping in his home in Observatory.

Local television personality and entertainer Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha was allegedly robbed at gunpoint in his residence in Observatory on 25 April.

Spokesperson for Johannesburg East Cluster Police, Captain Richard Monyai said the police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.

R50 000 worth of jewellery, a television set, DVDs, laptops and cameras were allegedly stolen.

According to police, Wa Makhetha and his wife were woken by robbers banging on their bedroom door at about 1am in the morning.

Monyai said, “We are investigating a case of house robbery and so far no suspects have been arrested.”

Police have urged anyone with information to come forward so the suspects can be arrested and face the might of the law.
