Local celebrities and media guests slipped on their favourite slippers and headed over to Wimpy at the Mall of Africa for the Slipper Day campaign launch.
This was a bid to get South Africans to support Slipper Day by wearing their slippers as well as Slipper Day wristbands designed by renowned designer, Gert-Johan Coetzee, on 12 May.
The initiative was initiated by Reach for a Dream foundation to raise funds and awareness for children who suffer from life-threatening diseases.
Supporters have the right to wear their slippers to work, school and even the mall without being judged, but only if they buy a R10 Slipper Day wristband from their closest Wimpy branch.

Another bonus for supporters who wear their wristbands and slippers on the day is a free cup of regular coffee if they pop into a Wimpy.
All funds and proceeds raised through the Slipper Day campaign will help put a smile on the faces of the foundation’s dream children.
You can do your bit to support this campaign by purchasing a R10 wristband from any Wimpy.
