The Rotary Club of Johannesburg hopes to raise R45 000 for the Bosmont Crèche, which was opened 31 years ago.

The Rotary Club of Johannesburg will be holding a golf day on 2 June to raise funds for the Bosmont Crèche, among other causes.

The golf day will be held at the Parkview Golf Course and green fees for the day will be R500. Sponsorship for holes 1, 9, 10 and 18 will cost R2 500 and sponsorship of other holes will cost R1 000. All proceeds will go towards the numerous fundraising projects.

Clifford Alexander, president of the Rotary Club told the Rosebank Killarney Gazette, “We currently have two situations which we are looking to fund. One of the projects is the Bosmont Crèche, which we are are hoping to raise R45 000 for. Our main focus at present is to assist Bosmont Crèche financially for them to remain open at least until year end,” added Alexander.

The crèche was opened by the Rotary Club over 30 years ago and the club is still active in ensuring the crèche remains open.

The club, which was chartered in 1912, has helped numerous organisations since its beginning. Last year it purchased a stove for a ministry in Mookgopong, paid for accommodation at a camp for Children of Fire and purchased health socks for a person who had been unable to climb stairs for over 20 years.

Among the numerous projects, Rotary supports the Salvation Army Children’s Home in Soweto, Children of Fire, the Oasis Ministry and Dignity Dreams.
