King Edward School Easter Festival 2017 a huge success

HOUGHTON – King Edward VII School first rugby team was unbeaten at the festival.

 

The King Edward VII School Easter Festival was well supported again this year with hundreds of spectators coming to support the games of hockey and rugby.

“We trust KES Fest 2017 was a memorable and enjoyable fest for all, that it allowed for a fellowship and camaraderie that will long be remembered after the posted results and we again congratulate all the players and teams for playing the games in a wonderful spirit and fair sportsmanship,” said Lisa Slooten, the director of marketing and PR at the school.

She added a special mention of thanks and appreciation to their principal sponsor Standard Bank and to all their other sponsors for making the festival a possibility.

King Edward VII School first rugby team was unbeaten at the festival. They beat Kingswood College 41–10, Rondebosch BHS 25–17 and Wynberg BHS 42–17. The other unbeaten team was HS Waterkloof who beat Hudson Park 41–38, Ben Vorster 38–24 and Marlow 34–12.

Some rugby action at the King Edward VII School Easter Festival.

The hockey teams which remained undefeated were Kearsney College, St John’s College and Rondebosch BHS.

“I think this is such a great festival, my school is doing really well and I am very proud of the results. It is also a great social event that allows us to make new friends and meet new families,” said Ntando Sibanyoni of King Edward VII School.

Another happy spectator was Pascal Demos who said the festival was fantastic. She added that her family and friends really enjoyed the experience and she would definitely be back next year.
