Three men arrested for attempted theft of motor vehicle

PARKVIEW – Three suspects have been arrested for attempted theft of a motor vehicle recently.

While patrolling and conducting their regular crime prevention duties at Emmarentia Botanical Gardens, Parkview Police Station’s crime prevention members managed to stop crime in its tracks.

According to Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, spokesperson for Parkview Police Station, officers saw three men inside a car that was parked. The officers stopped their car to conduct an investigation and it was discovered that the three suspects had damaged the ignition of the car.

“The door lock was tampered with and neither one of the suspects was the owner of the car. All three suspects were searched and car-breaking implements were found in their possession,” explained Sibeko.

All three suspects will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon to face charges of attempted theft of a motor vehicle and possession of car-breaking implements.

The station commander for Parkview Police Station, Colonel Theledi Zacharia Gopane would like to thank Constables Mashaba and Pollard for their hard work and dedication and for ensuring that the community is safe.
