Standard Bank supports launch of the Mesh Club in Rosebank’s new lifestyle precinct, the Keyes Art Mile

ROSEBANK – A new purpose-designed work space has been opened in Rosebank for professionals to gather and make connections.

Standard Bank is a founding sponsor of the Mesh Club, South Africa’s first purpose-designed workspace in Rosebank’s new lifestyle precinct, the Keyes Art Mile.

The Mesh Club is a place where young creatives, established entrepreneurs and captains of industry can gather in an exciting environment to meet, work, connect and socialise. Expanded reach is planned as Mesh Club prepares to open in Cape Town next year and will extend into Africa, with openings planned for Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.

The club was founded by CEO Jonathon Meyer, who understands hospitality and crafting unique spaces in ways that few can. He has been a sales and operations manager for Mandela Rhodes Place in Cape Town, and an integral person in taking the Slow Lounge concept out of the airport and into the city, with the Slow in the City business lounge.

“Having Standard Bank as one of our brand partners makes the journey of creating the platform for entrepreneurs to connect and collaborate with like-minded people all that more exciting,” said Meyer. “There are so many synergies in the many programmes that Standard Bank is involved in; from the supporting of entrepreneurs and small businesses to their many festivals and programmes in support of South African art.”

Yolisa Koza, wealth marketing executive at the bank said, “This is about the creation of an ecosystem that opens the door for connections. The designers have therefore created a physical space that is conducive to connections that transcend into the social space. It is in line with moves globally to radically alter the workplace of tomorrow.”

The Mesh Club sponsorship also follows on the heels of the bank’s highly successful Incubators, one of which is in Rosebank, launched in 2015 with the aim to educate, create, empower and develop entrepreneurs.
