The spokesperson for the school, Kathy Mittendorf said, “For the first time in many years, a St Mary’s trophy team and individual speaker were among the finalist teams of this year’s festival and they were invited to attend the finals night.”

The school was crowned the overall winners of the senior section while nabbing the runners-up place in the overall team results.

Mittendorf added, “Matric pupil Annabel Morphet received an A+ symbol and walked away with the title of the best individual speaker of the 2017 festival. The impromptu teams set an incredibly high standard and St Mary’s was the runner-up in this discipline.”
