Parktown High School for Girls recently held its annual open day.
Visiting parents and guardians as well as potential schoolchildren were treated to an hour-long tour of the school and were shown subject displays in classrooms, the school library, the art centre and weather station, biology labs and the Centre for Science Excellence.
The tour ended off with tea and cupcakes under the trees in the school garden. Guests were entertained by the school’s marimba band, choir, traditional choir, various dance groups, drama members and the orchestra.

Various sporting activities took place non-stop on the school fields, courts and in the pool.
“There were over 400 families visiting the school on the open day and the feedback was incredibly positive. Thank you to all staff and learners of Parktown for a wonderfully successful and very special day,” said Kerry Liss, communications and marketing officer for the school.
