Three suspects were arrested following a robbery at Balfour Mall on 28 March.
Spokesperson for the Norwood Police Station Captain Elliot Tshivhase said, “An employee at Pep store in Balfour Park alleged that while she was at work four unknown suspects entered [the store], with one carrying a firearm.”
Tshivhase said the other suspects, who had a large bag, demanded money. He added that the suspects told the employees not to scream before they took about 50 cellphones valued at R30 000. The robbers fled.
After their getaway, the suspects were confronted by CAP security officers. The crime had been reported, and during the confrontation, police and security officers were able to arrest three of the suspects with one suspect fleeing the scene.
The suspects were detained at the Norwood Police Station.
