A father waiting for his son in Sydenham was allegedly hijacked on 10 March.
Spokesperson for Norwood Police Station, Captain Elliot Tshivhase said the complainant, who was driving a white Nissan Tiida, was parked outside of his residence in Sydenham waiting for his son when he was allegedly approached by two suspects.
One of the suspects was armed.

“The suspects opened [the door of] his car and instructed him to get out of his car. Thereafter, they jumped into his car and made a U-turn before driving off. No shots were fired and [no] injuries were sustained,” said Tshivhase.
He added that a number of items were stolen along with the car including an iPhone 7, a laptop and passports. The value of the stolen items and the car is about R200 000.
