UPDATE: Emmarentia road rage suspect appears in court

PARKVIEW - A suspect has been arrested by Parkview police for the assault of a woman in a road rage incident

Update, 13 March 2017, 7am

The Rosebank Gazette reported a road rage incident in Week ending 10 March when a woman was assaulted by a motorist on the corner of Barry Hertzog Drive and Victory Road in Emmarentia.

Parkview police spokesperson, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed on 6 March that the road rage accused, who allegedly viciously assaulted the woman, was arrested on 3 March.

“After investigating the matter closely, it led to the arrest of the [accused]. He has since appeared in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court to face charges of common assault,” said Sibeko.

The arrest was made three days after the victim was kicked, throttled and slapped. Detective Constable Mmeli Mzolo from Parkview Police Station made the swift arrest as he believes such matters should not be overlooked.

Parkview police’s  spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, confirmed on the morning of 6 March that the road rage suspect who viciously assaulted a victim was arrested on 3 March. 

“After investigating the matter closely it lead to the arrest of the suspect. He has since appeared at the Hillbrow Magistrates Court to face the charges of common assault,” explained Sibeko.
