Schoolchildren participate in Cansa Shavathon

HOUGHTON – Annual Cansa Shavathon is held at a local school and is a success.

The annual Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) Shavathon took place on 3 March in the King Edward VII Preparatory School hall.

All the boys and staff members proudly sprayed or shaved their hair in honour of those who are affected by cancer. Headmaster of the school, Doug Shead, set the example by shaving his hair.

The morning was full of colour, laughter and loads of fun.

Two moms, Leeane Berry and Cheryl Maclellan, generously cut off and donated their long ponytails. The school raised a substantial amount of money for the association and special thanks went out to all the parents for their generosity and charitable nature.
