Officer congratulated for conviction of car thief

PARKVIEW – Detective Sergeant Zacharia Masindi gets vehicle thief convicted.

 

The station commander of Parkview police, Colonel Theledi Gopane, has commended Detective Sergeant Zachariah Masindi for his hard work and dedication.

This after the theft of a motor vehicle was reported at Parkview Police Station on 31 October last year. The vehicle was stolen in Seymour Avenue, Parktown West.

The docket was allocated to Masindi for investigation. He then traced the suspect and managed to arrest him in Mofolo, Soweto.

Not only did Masindi succeed in tracking down and arresting the suspect, he also secured a conviction due to his diligence.

According to Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, Parkview Police Station spokesperson, the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court found the accused guilty of theft of a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.
