The National Teaching Awards (NTA) and the Service Excellence Awards were held on 24 February at the Tshwane Events Centre in Pretoria West.

The annual awards acknowledged and recognised the outstanding contribution made by Graduate Diploma in Education (GDE) employees and social partners in improving the quality of learning and teaching in the province. Member for the Economic Council (MEC) for Education in Gauteng, Panyaze Lesufi, publicly honoured outstanding educators who have demonstrated service excellence, innovation and dedication to their work.
Lesufi also honoured the department’s business and social partners for the role that they play in supporting quality education in the province. The event was held at the Tshwane Events Centre, Pretoria West.
