Warning to motorists

PARKVIEW – Police have urged the community not to leave valuables in the car and to make sure they lock the doors properly.

 

Parkview police have issued another warning following an increase in thefts out of motor vehicles.

Parkview Police Station spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said, “We as the police are pleading with vehicle owners to ensure that windows and doors are properly closed and locked. During patrols, police have observed that most vehicles have been left with valuable items unattended and in full view of a person walking past.”

The station’s visible policing commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Sandile Mkhize, added that he is concerned that vehicle owners leave jewellery, laptops, cellphones, wallets and handbags unattended.
