Passengers traumatised as taxi driver is shot dead

HILLBROW – Taxi driver shot dead in front of horrified passengers.

A 34-year-old taxi driver was shot dead on 15 February at about 10pm, in full view of horrified passengers, at the corner of King George and Koch streets in Joburg.

Hillbrow Police Station spokesperson, Mduduzi Zondo, could not say what the motive for the shooting was. “The driver was shot twice in the upper body and was declared dead on the scene. We don’t know who shot the taxi driver, but the case is currently being investigated.”
