Become a promoter of literacy

ORANGE GROVE – A local school receives the magic of literacy.

The maxim that ‘a child who reads becomes an adult who thinks’ is the concept of the Link Project.

With the help of 75 dedicated volunteers, the Link Project promotes literacy throughout schools.

At Orange Grove Primary School, each Grade 2 child received a reading book from the Link Project.

Volunteer Leanne Shapiro said, “For me, the Link Project has meant learning to give your time unselfishly but in return, receiving the gift of watching a child learn to enjoy the wonders of being able to read and to begin to believe in their ability.

“As much as I have given, I feel I have gotten back more than I ever thought possible. The work they do at the Link Project is absolutely priceless and is one of the most incredible non-profit organisations out there.”
