Inge Marx who is in Grade 12 at St Mary’s School, Waverley, is one to watch out for.
Marx showcased her unbelievable talent at the SA Junior Chess Championship held in December.
She was awarded two trophies which included the international player of the year and the special achievement award.
No stranger to winning awards, Marx received a gold medal at the African Youth Chess Championships held in Port Elizabeth, where she also received the title of Woman International Master.
Marx also received a bronze medal at the African Zonal Chess Championship (seniors) in Mauritius where she was also awarded the title of Woman Fide Master. She also won gold at the South African Junior Closed Chess Championships for U18 girls.
