Pedestrian hit in Orange Grove

NORWOOD – Man knocked down and taken to hospital.

At 11.15am a man was knocked down on the corner of Oaklands and Louis Botha avenues on 23 January.

The electrician, who works for a private company, stepped off the pavement, onto the road and was subsequently knocked down and fell underneath the tyre of a Jaguar.

The man who was driving the car said, “I saw the light turn green and so I pulled off. He walked onto the road and I hit him.” The man was taken to the Linksfield Netcare Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Captain Mazibuko, who happened to be at the scene said, “His injuries were quite severe, it could be a broken leg or perhaps even worse.”
