Three nabbed for theft in Emmarentia

EMMARENTIA – Three suspects will appear at the Johannesburg Court for possession of stolen goods, theft and house break-in.

Parkview police recently made three successful arrests in Emmarentia.

Constable Lufuno Edward Lishivha of Parkview Police Station had noticed a suspicious vehicle during his routine patrol around the precinct, according to Sergeant Iris Phoko, the head of crime prevention for Parkview.

“He then stopped the car that had three suspects in it, two of the suspects made a run for it and fled the scene,” she explained.\

Lishivha then called for immediate back up while detaining the one suspect at the scene. Phoko added that when back up arrived, officers began searching the surrounding area for the two suspects who had fled the scene. “After some time, the officers managed to apprehend the two suspects. They were found in two different household yards with bags,” she said.

All three suspects were charged with possession of stolen goods, theft and housebreaking. Phoko confirmed that the owners of the stolen good went to the station and positively identified their belongings.
