Assault spikes in Sandringham

SANDRINGHAM – Police make 57 arrests in December.

Sandringham Police Station spokesperson, Captain Mohlaumi Mamabolo, said the station made 57 arrests for various offences in December, including eight people who were charged with assault.

Other arrests include:

  • 4 for possession of dagga
  • 4 for illegal possession of a firearm
  • 3 for rape
  • 12 for drunk driving
  • 4 for possession of a stolen vehicle
  • 1 for hijacking
  • 4 for fraud
  • 1 for selling alcohol without a license
  • 1 for shoplifting
  • 3 for crimen injuria
  • 3 for jaywalking
  • 9 for being in the country illegally.

Mamabolo said anyone wishing to report a crime should contact the Sector one and two hotlines on 071 675 6126/7/8/9.
