A house robbery occurred on 8 December last year at a residence situated on the corner of 17th and 13th avenues in Houghton at 3.05pm.
The homeowners were in the garden when three unknown men allegedly approached them and asked if the house was for sale. Two of the suspects then allegedly pulled out their firearms and pointed them at the couple.
The armed men then instructed them to enter the house, upon which they allegedly ransacked the premises and stole a Rolex wrist watch, a tennis bracelet, two rings, a wallet, a Samsung cellphone and R1 000 in cash. The total value of the stolen goods was R450 000.
Fortunately, no one was harmed during the incident.
Spokesperson for Norwood Police Station, Captain Elliot Tshivhase said, “We urge members of the public to always be vigilant and keep all doors and gates locked.”
