Telling tales of others

JOBURG – Stories of others portrayed through narrative films...

Fuelled by its inspirational prosper philosophy, Absa and Barclays launched a series of 11 compelling authentic and honest narrative films in 2014, which now, working together with their storytelling partner T&W, have received more than four million views.

“We contacted our team in Kenya to identify pensioners they are aware of who are living productive lives in their retirement and doing incredible things in their community,” said T&W’s head of production, Nandi Dlepu.

The purpose of making the prosper films was to depict this philosophy through telling authentic stories of real people’s lives and to showcase how the financial service provider has played some part in helping them prosper.

“They are real proof points of our prosper promise. Each of these stories is a true testament to the power of the human spirit and demonstrate the shared growth philosophy that Absa subscribes to.”

“The prosper films have been running for two years and have been very successful in building brand consideration for us. We continue to strive to be at the forefront of branded content in the industry and will continue to adopt the latest technologies and strategies to take our films even further.”
