Pileup on Empire and Jan Smuts
JOBURG - Six people are left injured after a pileup on Empire Road.
Six people were left injured following a motor pileup on the corner of Jan Smuts Avenue and Empire Road in Parktown on 22 November.
Spokesperson for Emer-G-Med, Max Cohen said, “Just after 9am this morning Emer-G-Med was on the scene of a serious collision involving four cars and a taxi on Jan Smuts and Empire, in Parktown.”
It is alleged that the taxi’s brakes failed, the driver was unable to stop in time and rear-ended a stationary car, resulting in the pile-up.
Cohen added, “A total of six people were injured in the collision. Two sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support care. Once stabilised the patients were transported to various nearby medical facilities for further treatment.”
