Night market becomes a regular thing

MELVILLE – 27 Boxes buzzes in the night.

There’s exciting news for the Jozi social scene … the new 27 Boxes Night Market is officially open every Wednesday!

Melville buzzes constantly, so the launch of a night market at 27 Boxes will provide even more diversity to the vibrant suburb. Those who already love the venue are encouraged to share the fun with family, friends, and even their dogs every Wednesday evening from 5pm to 9pm, for good food, live entertainment, fabulous shopping and all-round great vibes.

“Expect the same original quality and variety the 27 Boxes shops have on offer, which means everything is artisanal with quite a number of locally handcrafted products for sale,” said Oscar Wisniewski of the venue’s developers, Citiq.

“If one can imagine the best of Jozi’s food and craft markets coming together in one place, that’s what you can expect from our night market,” he said.

Visitors can sample global cuisine, browse through racks of vintage clothing, buy that rustic garden planter and there will be art on display, too. Let’s not forget that the Christmas countdown has begun, so what better way to find veritable Christmas treasures than on Wednesday nights at 27 Boxes.

“To add even more variety, the permanent shops will stay open with the market,” he continued. A busking stage will be provided for the night market by 27 Boxes, as a platform for all Joburg’s talented entertainers to perform on. While this is a perfect opportunity for buskers, it will also provide an evening of diverse entertainment for people who visit the night market.

Take your pooch on a leash and enjoy a warm summer’s evening beneath the stars with friends and family. There’s safe underground parking on 4th Avenue and loads of fun and entertainment for children, too.

Wednesday nights in Melville has just stepped-up a whole new level. It’s like having the perfect weekend in the middle of the week.
