Yeoville police arrest 36

Yeoville police have arrested 36 suspects in connection with various crimes from 10 October to 17 October.

The crimes they were arrested for are the following:

• 1 for attempted murder
• 1 for common robbery
• 1 for robbery with a weapon
• 3 suspects for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
• 6 for common assault
• 9 for possession of drugs
• 1 for possession of suspected stolen property
• 1 for theft out of a motor vehicle
• 1 for shoplifting
• 3 for driving under the influence of alcohol
• for malicious damage to property
• 7 illegal immigrants
• 2 for reckless and negligent driving.

“The suspects have appeared in court. Some have paid fines while others are out on bail. Some suspects remain in prison while police investigations are continuing,” said Yeoville Police Station spokesperson Captain Sifiso Mabizela.
