Thousands raised for underprivileged girls

KILLARNEY – Guests dress to the nines to support a worthy cause.

Mrs Africa finalist, Berenice Craddock held a dignified high tea in Killarney in aid of the Dignity Dreams Foundation which provides women and girls in need with reusable sanitary wear.

La Vie en Rose Restaurant at the Killarney Country Club was buzzing with excitement and heels worthy of a high tea. Sunnet Vermaak, Kyknet’s Glam Guru style segment presenter, was one of the distinguished guest speakers who shared a presentation on wardrobe.

The informative presentation was followed by a makeup demonstration by Bodyography Cosmetics makeup artists and trainers, Rene du Toit and Geraldi Spuring.

Board member of the Dignity Dreams Foundation, Mooniba Bhyat gave insight into the project and drummed up support for the dignity packs, which contained re-usable material sanitary pads.

Before the day was over, Sylvia Salman, a guest at the high tea, was named Best Dressed and received a Placecol Illumine gift hamper, donated by Imbalie Beauty, a franchisor and service provider of beauty treatments.

An amount of R14 000 was raised on the day and 70 dignity packs were received by Grade 7 pupils at Klopper Park Primary School in Isando on 3 November.

“I am overwhelmed by the support of family and friends that attended the high tea and for the generous donations that were received from those who couldn’t attend,” said a grateful Craddock.

“I will be pursuing becoming a brand ambassador next year, once the Mrs Africa Beauty Pageant is over.”
