According to a report received from a caller, a building was on fire in Parkhurst earlier today.
According to Megan Elliott, a tenant of building called park centre confirmed that fire. She said, “At about 1pm, we could smell something burning. We exited the building to try and find the source of the fire but our vision was impaired because the amount of thick smoke. We eventually spotted embers falling out of the chimney of the building.”
Elliott added, “The owner of the building then used a fire extinguisher on the flames and other people sprayed water on to the blaze. We were then asked to evacuate the building.”
