A taxi protest in Johannesburg has left many people reliant on public transport, stranded.
At this point no information has been confirmed about what the protest is about, but it is assumed that it is about taxi routes and permits.
Edna Mamonyane, Metro Police spokesperson urged motorists to avoid the area.
Pritchard, Simmonds, and President streets have blocked off, and motorists should expect heavy delays.
According to Rethabile Tsekedi, who works in the area, the protest has been going on for the past two hours.
