Public meeting to address culvert project

NORWOOD – Residents are encouraged to attend a meeting on Paterson Park development.

City Parks and Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) are set to hold a public meeting about the Paterson Park culvert project at Spark Gallery on 26 October.

Ward 73 councillor, Mia Snyman said the meeting will only address the culvert project and the park upgrade. “The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the planned developments in the park and to update them of the progress made with the culvert project. It will also be an opportunity for residents to ask questions and to give their input.”

This is a R68-million project conducted by the agency for the construction of 400m of 3 600 x 2 400 precast culverts and 500m of natural stream construction in Norwood.

Snyman said the plan is to have all construction completed by the end of year, with the landscaping to follow early next year and final completion set for March next year.

“It is important for residents to attend so as to ensure that they are properly informed. I hope to see many residents from Ward 73 there,” added Snyman.

Spark Gallery is situated on the corner of Louis and Pine roads in Orchards. The meeting will begin at 5.30pm.
