SAIBPP announces dates for property convention

HOUGHTON – SAIBPP announces November as the date for the upcoming property convention.

The South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners (SAIBPP) recently announced the details for its upcoming annual convention to be held next month in Sandton.

The institute has the key objective of driving transformation within the South African property sector. It comprises about 500 skilled black property practitioners and property owners including professionals, business leaders, suppliers and stakeholders from both private and public sectors.

The convention announcement took place at a media briefing at Houghton Golf Club on 3 October and saw the weekend of 2 to 3 November announced as the date for the event. It will take place in Woodmead under the theme, The property sector as a key driver for sustainable economic growth and wealth redistribution.

Speaking of the upcoming convention was Nkuli Bogopa, president of the organisation, who explained that it would provide a much-needed platform for professionals within the South African property industry to not only network and share information, but to also engage in meaningful dialogue around transformation within the industry.

“This year marks SAIBPP’s 20th anniversary and we believe that it’s time for honest reflection on the slow pace of transformation in South Africa and our industry in particular,” Bogopa said.

“This conference represents a strategic, practical and solutions-orientated approach to dealing with the current challenges facing the various stakeholders in the property sector.”

The convention will wrap up with an awards dinner, which will once again honour property industry leaders who have excelled in their respective disciplines; and companies that have succeeded in demonstrating a commitment to transformation.

An exciting addition to the awards this year is the introduction of a new category aimed at honouring excellent academic achievement.
