A drug bust by Hillbrow police officers in Berea on 7 October saw two suspects found with drugs worth thousands of rands, arrested.
The officers were patrolling along Catherine and Kaptein streets when they came across the suspicious-looking men and stopped them.
“After stopping them, the officers then asked to search them and during the search found drugs worth an estimated R6 000 wrapped like a small ball,” Zondo said.
The men were then arrested and taken to Hillbrow Police Station where they were charged with the possession of suspected drugs. Zondo confirmed that the two suspects made an initial appearance in Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court on 10 October to face the charges.
