Help end violent crime

BRAMLEY – Residents urged to report unlawful gun owners and traders.

Bramley police are appealing to residents to help in catching and arresting suspects who trade in firearms illegally, by immediately reporting any suspicious activity to the police.

Captain Molefe Mogodi, the spokesperson for Bramley Police Station, urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious individuals or groups.

“The station is encountering violent crimes where guns are used and we urge anyone who knows of any person or group dealing unlawfully with firearms, to report them,” he said.

Mogodi also urged community members to report any person or persons suspected of owning one or more firearms without a licence. “Signs of this may include when someone threatens to shoot another person or when the suspected person keeps boasting about owning a gun.

“Further signs are when the suspected person randomly discharges a firearm in public or private, and when they tell others that he has a gun to sell or knows someone who wants to sell a firearm.”
