City crafts 10-point turnaround plan

JOBURG - The City's new leadership has laid out a new plan for the City of Gold.

The City of Johannesburg’s new leaders recently crafted a 10-point plan for the City, during a four-day induction.

“The induction was aimed at helping the new political leadership, ushered in after the 3 August local government elections, to get a bird’s-eye view of the City’s structures and systems, to enable it to determine what works and what requires reviewing. The plan also aims to deliver services faster,” the City said.

The 10-point plan is:

n A recognition by the political and administrative leadership of the political arrangement/coalition imposed by the electorate. This is necessary to help the City move forward with speed.

Mashaba made the announcement that the City was giving itself 90 days to complete a housing list in early September and a few days later, Mashaba handed over the first of 40 title deeds in Diepkloof, Meadowlands and Orlando. He said 2 000 more were being processed by the City and he said plans will be outlined for the delivery of the remaining 2 000 title deeds within the following 90 days.
