Update: Olympus Security Company was allegedly operating illegally

MELROSE - Private Security Industry Regulation Authority (PSIRA) investigate Olympus Security.

The security company whose personnel was accused of assaulting and stabbing party goers at the festival had their company registration withdrawn, meaning they are not permitted to provide any services.

At the moment, it is unclear when and why their registration was withdrawn.

Private Security Industry Regulation Authority (PSIRA) spokesperson, Mpho Mofikoe said an investigation would be conducted and a determination made accordingly. “A withdrawal can either be voluntary by a company or done by the PSIRA due to a violation,” explained Mofikoe. She added that once the reasons have been established, necessary steps would be taken.

Attempts to contact Olympus Security manager, Chaz Fortnam, were unsuccessful. The festival’s organisers were also nowhere to be found after releasing a statement, distancing themselves from the ‘violent and unnecessary’ incident.
