Old Arcs host special reunion to honour acclaimed author

SANDRINGHAM – Old Arcs gather for special reunion in honour of author and former member.

The Old Arcadian Association (Old Arcs) hosted a special reunion in honour of well-known author and former association member, David Sandler.

The special event took place on 18 September and saw Sandler, who has published nine books including 100 Years Of Arc Memories and More Arc Memories, and Old Arcs members gather for a memorable afternoon at Sandringham Gardens.

The fun-filled afternoon also included a video presentation from Michael Sieff, chief executive officer of The Chevrah Kadisha Jewish Helping Hand, on the new state-of-the-art building for Arcadia Jewish Children’s Home, which is still under construction in Sandrigham and is set to be completed by the end of this year.

Sandler, who now lives in Australia, has generously raised more than R1.2 million for the children’s home through the sale of his books as well as through The Arc Movie.

The reunion also saw Sandler presented with a painting by South African artist Shani Krebbs, who is also an ex-Arcadian.
