Creepy crawlies and bugs at annual concert

PARKTOWN – Kindergaten pupils impress at their annual concert.

The Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg’s Kindergarten hosted its annual Regenbogen Kids Concert on 20 August.

This year’s theme was ‘I love insects, they love me, I love spiders and centipedes. Worms are slimy, slugs are too. Ladybirds are red and beetles are blue’.

The cast members wore insect costumes and sang and danced to an impressed audience.

“The children delved into the theme of insects and bugs weeks before the concert,” said Kindergarten principal, Brigitte Helmrich.

“Interest was kept every day as they explored home gardens and the school grounds, looking for and finding new insects.”

Helmrich said pupils conducted research on the insects to improve their knowledge, and impressive artwork was produced by the pupils which was put on display in an art exhibition on the day of the concert.

“Even the awesome stage backdrop was created by the children with the help of their teachers. Well done Regenbogen kids.”
