In an act of charitable giving, the Goodman Gallery made a massive donation of more than 2 000 T-shirts to the Union of Jewish Women (UJW).
The donation handover took place in Houghton where the organisation is based and saw 2 813 T-shirts handed over. The shirts are set to be distributed to the organisation’s various projects in and around the city.
Cindy Kree, executive director of the UJW Johannesburg branch said, “These include the Alexandra aftercare and feeding scheme, the granny and child-headed household project in Pimville, the Bamabanani aftercare and the Duduzwane Home for HIV and Aids, both based in Malvern.”
Kree thanked the gallery for the generous donation, which she added would go a long way in achieving the organisation’s mission and vision.
