Team South Africa impresses at performing arts

JOHANNESBURG – Team SA return with gold and scholarships from LA.

 

The South African Championships of Performing Arts, which has been in existence for 19 years, is proud of Team South Africa’s achievements at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, USA recently.

The championship is a competition that offers platforms for contestants to compete in Hollywood. It also enables contestants to showcase their talent in areas such as acting and dance as well as opportunities to walk away with scholarships to further their talent in the USA.

Corlanie Botha, who owns a dance school in Kyalami, said, “What an incredible experience for Team SA, thank you Dr Ellen Roux and Frik de Lange from South African Championships of the Performing Arts for the opportunities you have created for these young performers.”

Team South Africa returned with gold medals and scholarships.

Juniors medal awards

South Africa got 40 gold medals, 34 silver and 19 bronze, nine overall trophies, one industry award (Scouts Award), one Grand Champion and Maya Phele got the Model of the Year Award.

68 gold medals, 39 silver and 29 bronze medals with 34 overall trophies

Two Grand Champion Awards – Ryan Meyer Grand Champion Actor and Nalo Poswa Grand Champion Dancer.
