Sandringham police successfully arrest 19 for various offences

SANDRINGHAM – A total of 19 people nabbed by the police for various offences in Sandringham.

More than a dozen suspects were arrested by Sandringham police officers in recent weeks for various offences within the precinct.

The police nabbed 19 people for alleged offences ranging from the illegal possession of a stolen motor vehicle to theft and assault. Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Sandringham Police Station, said that seven illegal immigrants were arrested.

“One person was also arrested for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle while two more people were arrested for public drinking,” he said.

The police also nabbed two suspects for trespassing while four others were arrested for theft and three more for assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.

Maphakela confirmed that all the suspects were charged and detained at Sandringham Police Station. “All the arrested suspects have since appeared at the relevant court to face their charges,” Maphakela said.
