Celebrating Women’s Month in colour

JOBURG – A new colouring book is out and you can buy it and support a good cause...

To celebrate Women’s Month, Uitkoms Home for Girls will launch its adult colouring book at a fundraiser at Bella 66 Restaurant and Deli in Chiselhurston on 13 August.

The home, situated in Observatory, is a registered non-profit organisation which takes care of girls who all come from circumstances where they’ve either been abused, abandoned or neglected. They are placed in the home’s care by the courts.

This inspirational colouring book has been illustrated by talented illustrator, Kotie van Wyk especially for the girls at Uitkoms.

Van Wyk said she felts privileged to have been involved in this project.

“I’ve always wanted to illustrate a colouring book. It’s a nice way to get people from all walks of life to be creative. And if my illustrations can put a smile on the faces of the people who colour in the pictures, that’s an added bonus.” said Van Wyk.

Uitkoms is heavily reliant on the public to make financial contributions so it can continue delivering its services and to maintain the quality of service provided.

“We hope that these 30 beautiful and inspiring illustrations will remind everyone that life starts out as a black and white picture and it’s up to us to colour it in with colourful friends, family, love and experiences,” said Tanya Krause, marketing consultant for Uitkoms Home for Girls.
